Treating Eating Disorders in post-lockdown. Interview with the experts: Dr. Dalle Grave, Dr. Calugi, Dr. Bertelli, Dr. Ramponi
On July 1st, Dr. Rosaria Nocita, from the Center for Eating Disorders in Milan, interviewed four professionals who care for patients with Eating Disorders.
The return to everyday life has led people with dietary problems to face again uncomfortable situations: exposure of their own body, resumption of social contacts, restoration of routine with consequent changes to the diet, reactivation of compensatory methods.
The critical issues of this period consist both in facing the discomforts of the Eating Disorder, prior to the pandemic, and in facing the consequences of the lockdown.
But what emerges in the clinical picture of patients with Eating Disorders from the end of the lockdown? What are the ‘challenges’ to be faced at this particular time? What consequences are currently being observed as a result of prolonged cohabitation between parents and children?
The experts interviewed shared valuable observations on these issues and presented clinical reflections of great value, according to the different areas of expertise and experience in different care contexts of each.
